Men's Night at HNJ
Humility, Humor and the Human Heart
Come join us for an evening of light-hearted reflections on the joys of the humble road of faith presented by Jim Curry, the HNJ RCIA Coordinator.
Since the earliest days of Christianity, humility has been recognized as the “gateway virtue”. All the other virtues require some degree of humility as a prerequisite. Our greatest example of humility can be found in Christ Himself, who “humbled Himself to share in our humanity.” Good humor can be found throughout Scripture and the lives of the saints. St. Paul even says we are all called to be fools for Christ. Jesus Himself often spoke about the role of the heart in one’s faith. In Scripture, the human heart functions as the center of human knowledge, emotions, morality and will. The word “heart” appears over 800 times in Scripture.
We will gather in the Life Center Café for fellowship, worship, pizza and drinks followed by Jim Curry’s presentation, discussion and prayer!
All men are invited!
