Deacon Joe Gassman was born in Buffalo, NY and raised in Gowanda, NY. He is a 22-year veteran of the U.S. Naval Construction Force serving as a heavy equipment operator and human relations advisor. Upon retirement, he was hired by Habitat for Humanity of Brevard County as a Construction Site Supervisor and named President & CEO in 2003. He also served 3 years as the operations director for Daily Bread. Deacon Joe was ordained a permanent deacon on June 13, 2009. He has served several parishes including HNJ and currently serves the Diocese of Orlando as the Secretary for Leadership & Parish Life. He's been married for 42 years to Judy. They have two adult children and two grandsons.
